Tested "blind" couldn't tell difference between this pedal and others in the DW lineup. Not to say the others are bad, but this is a GREAT pedal for the price, but that's not even really the way to look at it, because it's still true DW, all-metal with velcro/spurs, double-sided 101 beater, comes with key, wrenches, and the nifty drum key clip built in to the pedal's base - just a slightly lighter version in some areas, and therefore less expensive due to the single chain, etc. (which some may claim make it faster than double chains because of less resistance - who knows?).
VERY solid playing feel which I like better than any other line out there. Fast and consistent: Triplets/quads no problem.
If you are like me, and play blues/rock, you'll be fine for many years I'm sure with a 2000. It's more solid than my ancient (single chain too) Camco which has not failed yet. I only changed because the newer pedals are more refined, and the Camco was getting squeaky/rickety.
The metal/hardcore guys may want heavier upgraded chain, springs, whatever for that style. In which case, go up the line until you are confident you won't break it (which I do beleive would still be hard to do do with this 2000 model, but I have seen some amazing things in my day!). |
